Dukes Bar and Deli is the latest opening from one of Surrey’s most successful restaurateurs, Roberto Gardetto. ‘Robi’, originally from Torino, Italy, learned to love food at his grandmother’s kitchen table and, after moving to the UK in 1983, became the co-owner of several of Surrey’s most successful restaurants, including Cambio, Spago and Bar Centro, before taking his love of exquisite Italian dining and irrepressible charm to the heart of the Surrey Hills at the much-fêted Hurtwood Inn in Peaslake in 2014.

Now, with Dukes Bar and Deli bearing all the easy convivial spirit, attention to the finest details and passion for the most delicious, authentic produce and ingredients that mark Roberto’s years of experience in the hospitality industry, Woking welcomes its freshest and most inviting bar and delicatessen in years and promises to become a celebrated local institution in the heart of the town.

A vibrant, welcoming, green oasis has opened its doors in a quiet corner of Woking’s busy town centre this summer, promising locals a fresh and inviting new Bar and Deli to relax and meet up at while enjoying handmade, mouth-watering Italian food and drink.

Dukes Bar and Deli, located at Dukes Court, is emblematic of Woking’s environmentally-friendly vision, and is a building blanketed in living green fauna, providing a lush backdrop for the deli’s al-fresco dining and a space where customers can escape the bustle of the busy town centre a few yards away – all while enjoying outstanding food made fresh on the premises, alongside barista-quality coffee, wines and cocktails.

Inside, the bright and modern bar and café area is bathed in natural light falling on exposed red brick and natural wood, and can seat up to 30 customers, with space for buffets and private functions serving Duke’s delicious homemade food.
